My car has a slight sputter and a slight misfire. To make sure I didnt have a clutch problem, I put the car in 4th gear at 30mph then put the pedal all the way down. The clutch didnt slip at all but the car really sputtered then! What should I do? Change the plugs? Plug wires? Cap rotor? I am not sure what I should do and I dont want to just start changing things that I dont need too. Thanks in advance for any info! [ January 22, 2005, 10:42 AM: Message edited by: 92greenlx ]

if it's only under load, try another ignition coil.

Sorry about the typo! I meant 30mph. I have a MSD BLastor Coil in now and it is less than a year old. Should I try a new stock replacement and see what happens?

Sounds like an ignition missfire. Most likely it is leaky pug wires, ie bad. When they get old or damaged the spark will leak out to the header or any easiest path under a heavy load like that.

Looks like its time to buy some new plug wires then. I have MSD wires now and have not been happy with them from the get go. How are the Ford Motorsport ones? [ January 22, 2005, 11:57 AM: Message edited by: 92greenlx ]
