My rear is just puttin' down one line.I just want to replace the whole rear end.I see alot out there for sale for reasonable prices. How can I tell if the limited slip unit is still in good shape, reguardless if the fluid in the housing is clean or drained.

anything over 20K and the track lock is dead.
For my personal taste that is.
Your best bet is to have it rebuilt.

I had mine rebuilt by Petes gear shop in Hayward. Parts were under $100. Good luck
