boost doesn't break shit, horsepower breaks shit. How much boost can the lil paxton make? 8lbs?
blocks crack at exactly 501 horsepower , so you can boost up to as many pounds as it takes to make it there, and you'll still be okay - for a lil while.

i'd guess around 20 lbs of boost on that stock motor... if that's even possible??

On the stock motor with 91 octane you are limited to probably 12psi MAX. If you were to try and push 20psi it would not only detonate serverly but you would probably crack the heads.

you will need an inter cooler anything over 12 lbs. of boost.

I heard the same. With stock internals 12lbs should be max, unless you want to buy a new engine soon.

EXACTLY! You'd be lucky to see 12 "safely". If you want to keep that motor, I wouldn't push it past 10.

Would the Alky injection system from Snow performance be about the result as a inter or after cooler?

If your Paxton is a SN series, you would be lucky to see 5#s outa that- but I figure your combo with 9#s would be fine. Just make sure you are not running lean and your gaskets should hold.

Ive had three SN Paxtons & yes they are good reliable superchargers- last long time, but 12#s no matter how you pully it is pretty optimistic IMO.. especially once they get hot, but I could be wrong. On the F-cam I am not sure about clearance issues, but you wouldnt see much power gain untill you upgraded the heads. Oh, and they make a cooler kit for the SN series that fits into the dipstick hole with a little radiator to cool the ATF that seemed to help for me. My SN would get hot and cause me to ping and run like dukie. [ January 03, 2005, 09:47 PM: Message edited by: 89saleen ]

They discontinued the SN series in 2000, and Paxton dosent offer any type of support/parts for them whatsoever so I doubt they would still be selling that cooler. Now, Paxton referrs you to a company called Paradise Wheels in San Marcos, Ca. that is the ONLY place that will rebuild or service those units now. They proably have something like that or would know how to get it. Im assuming that is the place that rebuilt your SN-92 unless you found a turbo shop or someplace that would do it. One more thing- all three of the units Ive had leaked ATF into the discharge tube- even after a rebuild! Check periodicly your plastic discharge tube for wetness from ATF blowby. They all do it. Just a matter of time.
