Thinking of trying out some E.T. Streets since i rarely get to the track and don't really street race much so i thought i'd give these a shot instead of DR's
So what size rim and tire combo will fit on my IRS Cobra?
I was thinking a 16" rim but how wide do i need and what size E.T. Street would be good?

I've heard that the new mickey thompson drag radials hook better than their et streets and that the ets will soon be obsolete

if you have the stock 03 cobras you should check out the mickey thompson drags for the 17" rims!

And right after you order those MT's, make sure you AAA membership is current...for that tow home after a half-shaft breaks!

Ive seen a few cobras being towed home from the track after they broke a half shaft. Its not fun. I would stick to nittos, They dont bite as hard and are less violent on the shafts.

I'll take your guys' word for it i will look into a set of 315/35 Nitto DR's.
I think they look better than the 275/40's and i would assume will provide better traction.

Im running 305/35/18 Nitto DR's on my 03, looks sick and hooks pretty well on the street too.

i thought the 03 cobras with IRS arent supposed to launch hard or else stuff will break maybe not right away but not too long after.

Yes, if you would like to spin your tires, which causes wheel hop, and breaks half-shafts, get Nittos.
As long as you are HOOKING and not wheel hoping it is hard to break a half shaft.
I would suggest anything other than Nitto's personally. They are the least effective DR available.

i've never seen anyone run decent times w/ nitto's as opposed to mickey's.
a 3500 launch won't break anything that isn't broken already. and you won't spin a bit on a good power shift

Says 1.62 60ft w/ stock suspension on E.T. streets
Like I said, if it hooks, you'll be ok. Just don't go hopping that thing out of the hole or you'll be going home on the tow truck.
You aren't planning on running ET streets as your "street" tires are you? I wouldn't recommend that. Get caught in one rain storm and kiss the Cobra good bye.

Hell no!
Wouldn't even think about that.
My decision is to have a couple extra rims w/ ET's for the track and ride my stock stuff daily or sell the stock rims and maybe get some CCW's w/ 18" DR's on them.
What do you guys think??
Also what size rim is recommended for the ET's width wise i mean?

For your Cobra I'm pretty sure you can run the same tire/wheel setup I used. It was a 15x10 Weld Draglite with a 6.5 back spacing. 26x11.5 ET Streets on them.
You will have to run a 16 inch wheel and tire to clear your Cobra breaks, but everything else should be the same and fit nicely
