I have a vibe problem when I rev my engine up. I thought it was my old motor mounts so I threw on a pair of solids that I got a good deal on. Well, they didnt help nor make the problem worse. I am wondering what I can start off doing to try and fix the problem? Could it be a bad harmonic balancer? Or could it be internal? Like the crank needing to be balanced? Or is it even possible for a flywheel to cause a vibe? I feel as if I have lost power from this vibe. My motor doesnt feel as strong as it did before the vibe problem. Any suggestions or recommendations? Should I just take it to a shop and go from there?

maybe one of those probs you mentioned but i believe that of you had a vibration that you could feel and changed from stock motor mounts to solid motor mounts then if it wasn't a problem with the mounts then the vibration would only be increased.......right?

first check for a misfire, then try to seprate the transmission from the engine and see if it still does it.

I am also having a slight misfire that feels a little bit like a slipping clutch but my clutch has less than 8000 mile son it. The misfire might be caused by a bad plug or plug wire right? I was surprised that the vibe didnt get worse once I installed the solid motor mounts. Should I start by replacing my harmonic balancer first?

Posted this before but just check and see in a dark garage and open up the hood and look for any arcing from any of the spark plug wires.
Seems to me like it's the misfire that you're feeling.
Let us know what happens.......did you just do a tune up or anything involving the plugs/wires/cap/rotor?

With my new job I dont have the time to mess with my car for at least 4 more months. Is there a good shop in solano county someone can refer me to? Thanks in advance!

i had a bad vibration and it was (of all things) a bent flywheel, the stupid shop bent the flywheel SLIGHTLY when installing the tourque converter, and bam, over about a year, it got bad
but this was only on the freeway.
what about tranny mount??

That is funny, because my problem started a little while after replacing my T-5 and clutch. I thought maybe my tranny itself was the cause. I installed an aluminum driveshaft and it was a nice difference. Then slowly the vibration got worse to what it is now. I wonder if this is why i feel a loss in power. Could it be a bent flywheel and there is not contact all the way around to the clutch?
