I was looking at a 89 Convertable 5.0 today with a 5 speed in it... When the car would just sit at idle it would hit like 3k on the Tach..... When I put my foot into the clutch.... The car would idle normaly but the check engine would light up.... The light would go out everytime I let go of the clutch..... But the idle wopuld go back up...... So I bought the car for pretty cheap and now I am asking if anyone has ever ran across this problem before?

pull the codes first and see if it gives you any hints. I have seen faulty tps sensors do this. Good Luck
