I have a BBK70 mm TB on my 5.0 i am trying to set the idle, but the setting that i have it at right now seems kinda high it is at 1000rpm. is this ok? any lower idle setting makes the engine run rough and it is not steady.

I am following BBK's directions and it says to disconnect the sensor until i have the desired idle setting, then reconnect it after all adjustments are made.

sorry about that i know this guy who works at macco and he is on CAFords but i don't know his screen name. thanks for the advice the BBk directions said that the idle would be a little higher if the engine has been modified. i have cold air and a full exhaust system. so hopefully this is the reason. By the way would you know of any one selling a after market hood (cowl etc.) or saleen style wing?

i did i also had to adjust the tps andto adjust idle disconnect the idle air bypass valve electrically( it is the cylindrical thing attached to the throttle body on the fwd side) set idle using the adjustment screw on the throttle body (where the cable hooks up) untill you get a decent idle. then turn the car off. turn the key to the on position and with a digital multimeter check the dc voltage on the green wire coming from the TPS (throttle position sensor , you will have to peirce the wire to read the voltage)it should close to one volt . and it should idle perfect [ October 29, 2004, 07:34 PM: Message edited by: Cstang50 ]
