I have a perfect run of the 4 gauge wire from alt to starter +. But I don't have room to install the 200 amp fuse box anywhere near the battary side of the car. How vital is it to be positioned there? Can I install the 200amp fuse and holder closer to the passenger side of the car...in doing this the fuse will be much closer to the alternator. Is there a big difference or should I find a way to make it fit on the battary side of the car?

Found out it can be installed anywhere on the 4 gauge line....
So I finished everything then started the car heard a pop and it idled so shitty it barley stayed running. The Battary gauge was below the red line!!? WHAT THE FUCK?! I checked the fuse and its still good everything looks to be hooked up correctly. Two black/orange wires with 4 gauge power wire all connected to the battary terminal on the alertator, then the 4 guage wire runs to the possotive side of the starter relay,...thats all correct right? Then I have the wite wire spliced into the yellow wire of the old alternator harness. Am I missing something??? I'm so fuckin pissed off.
First I get the three 3 alt. because the stock one isn't holding up well to my electric fan, pullies and such....yet when putting it in it was worse than stock...so then I thought it was the lack of the 4 guage power wire and 200 amp fuse,...I put that shit in and its even worse again! Now I can't even put a stock one back in because I fucking cut the stock alterator wire harness for the 3g upgrade...I thought this was suposed to be easy???!?!?
HELP ME PLEASE!

I dont have a fuse on my 4awg link.
the side of the starter relay you plug that 4awg link into is the rear side, closer to the firewall.
I forget which wire the white plug splices to but if you followed directions on how to do it then I geuss you've got it.
the directions I followed were off buffhomers site...
also, how good are your crimp connections? Can you pull on them with 15lbs of force at each joint? If not, use a propane torch and some solder and solder up those joints!

Crimp connections are really good. Yet BlackNGold came over yesterday and found that my connections to the alternator were bad because of the red plastic protector around the the battarty connector of the alternator. After cutting the plastic off I had a better connection yet still not getting enough juice out of the alt. We tested the alternator and it is perfect. We came to the conclusion that I may need a smaller pully on there. I have my stock pully maybe that will make the alt spin faster thus producing more amps. no impact gun though so I'm stuck again.
