I guess this could be considered a General Question but feel I may need some tech assistance.
Currently I have my bottle mounted in the rear hatch area. HATE IT by the way. I'm going to be removing my rear seats and want to mount the bottle behind me with the nozzle in the middle of the two front seats. Any suggestions on how to do this? Anyone know where to go either online or magazine that shows some direction? [ September 23, 2004, 03:24 PM: Message edited by: Jdub07 ]

Im not sure if that'll fit your car perfectly. You have a hatch right? That kit is for a coupe.

I had myne mounted exactly where you want yours. My seats were completley gone. I mounted the bottle on the driveshaft/tranny hump with the bottle neck towards the front of the car. I had my bottle pressure guage on there and could see the gaugue and turn it on from sitting in the drivers seat.
Not really much to explain regarding how to install it just remove all of the rear seat components and the rest will be self explanitory(sp?).

Here are some pics of my rear seat delete. I only made a bottom half. I used 1/4 inch plywood for the top piece and 1/2 inch for the front section. All I did was cut the wood to fit the car and then covered it the the carpet I got from Pep Boys. I used spray adhesive and staples to hold the carpet to the wood.

maybe does or maybe does not matter to you...but you can't run the bottle in the back seat at the track. the bottle needs to be separated from you...and the blow-off running outside. but if you get through tech then your good to go.

my understanding is the bottle can be anywhere as long as the blow off tube is outside the car. I have seen it in the front seat at the track

Blow off? I don't think I have a blow off valve...lol someone post a picture of that. It didn't come with my zex kit...
For the track I can just move it to the back in a matter of minutes so I'm worried about that. Not like I go to the track a lot as it is...been only once.

BLOW DOWN, to make it track legal. You have to have it going out of the car, You know the tube that goes down the side of the bottle? Or do you not have one yet?

The Zex kits don't come with a blow down tube. But yes you must have the blow down tube vent outside to be legal. I think the only time your hatch must be sealed off from your front compartment is if you have a fuel cell and a battery in the back.
Regardless I threw a blanket over my bottle so it could never be seen.

yeah you might be right....now that i think about it...my buddy got kicked out probably beacause it was the compucar "bottle in a bag" not mounted to anything really. that might have been the deal...but definitely needs to vent outside the car.

Sounds INCREDIBLY stupid to mount it any where near you, the driver. Stop being a "cheap fuck" and do it "correctly." Spend the couple bucks and get a remote bottle opener and get it as far away from you as possible.

mine is going to be right behind me in the back seats. I am thinking about mounting it to the cage. I think it will be fine in the car

Why is it stupid if he has a blow off tube going to the outside of the car? My nitrous bottle was where my passenger seat should be in my old car and will be in the same place in the coupe.

hiddin nos does have a point about getting a remote bottle opener. I should first get the BLOW DOWN tube as I'd like to take her to the track again someday. I still want to do the rear seat delete though. I don't think I've had more than 3 people sit in the back since I've owned the car.
now I have a really dumb question. What happends if your using the nitrous then it runs out in mid useage? I guess what I want to know is if it is damaging to anything?
