anyone ever heard how borla mufflers sound on a 5.0? i want to have a different sound. all the other 5.0s i hear all have flows, and i was wondering if borlas sound good?

I liked them on my '94 until I went to an X-pipe. Then the sound was too "rippy". With an H-pipe it sounded pretty smooth and deep. A lot of the sound will depend on your exhaust ports and cam.
Give the Edelbrock a listen - that's what I switched to recently and I'm very happy with the sound.

go to the exhaust sound clips..i think theyre posted in the general talk section. they have all sorts of exhaust combos you can hear..so pick one you like. i like the way borla mufflers sound on a 5.0. dont reall like em on a 4.6 (i had em). but if you got the $$ Get em..

I've got them on my hatch. Real nice sounding and good quality too. Sounds deep and low, when you let off the gas it burbles a little. Quiet at idle but screams when you get on it. I've got headers and an X Pipe so it might sound different with an H pipe. As 9lb pony said, it does sound a little rippy with an x-pipe, depeneds on your preference but I like it.

If you really want to know what they'll sound like, you can have mine! They are taking up space in the garage. They have flow tubes and turn downs currently. I'm located in Dublin.

I have XR-1s(borla) and an off-road pipe and longtubes.
honestly flowmeisters sounded better. my car is louder at WOT now.

I had JBA headers, bassani catted X pipe, and borla cat-back on my 94 5.0...I have a borla cat-back now, stock headers, and an O/R H-pipe on my 96 and it sounds HORRIBLE.

My friend has Borla mufflers and some kind of catted x pipe on his 5.0, sounds pretty good. Not a combo you hear a lot.
