what kind of price am I looking at for a switch from automatic to 5 speed for a 2000 mustang gt (including parts and labor)and any good place to take it to?

I did the swap on my 90 coupe. I'd say the parts will be close to 2k, and labor probably would to. It took me about 15 hours of work, so you could imagine what a shop would want to charge for that. If you have all the resources it would be way cheaper to do it yourself if you know what your doing. Its not all that hard; the most difficult part is swapping the pedals, trust me. There is a company that offers a kit that comes with all of the parts to do it from donor cars. I forgot the name of it, but they advertise in MM&FF, and as I recall the kit is about $1800. Andrew

The company is www.Stangparts.com they have all you need. GOOD LUCK You will need it. I have done it twice and it gets easier but it still isnt fun.

i just gathered all the parts needed from this site,i used the fordmuscle.com directions.it took me 4 hours first time.the pedals were fairly easy for me,they shouldnt be too hard.just DONT GET FUSRATED when doing it.
