My 93 stang is flashing a 34 air bag code. All I am finding is 90-91 codes, 92 codes, and 95+ codes. 92 says that code 34 means: 34 | Low resistance in driver air bag circuit.
Same on a 93? Any help on WTF that means?

Is it easy to remove the air bag and replace the clock spring, then install all?

Just replaced it and put it back together. Code is still flashing. Do I have to clear the code or should it learn it when keyed on?

Battery was unhooked for a day and a half so it should have ran out of all reserve power.

Yes Sal. It's big and circular. Not at all what I expected. I paid $94 from Ford for mine and it turned out to be a short in the system I beleive so I will sell you my NEW one from Ford for $75 if you want. I'm sure we can trust eachother to just send money and parts through the mail.
How to: Start by dis-connecting your battery. Then you just take off the two plastic pieces around your column. Then take off the big plastic piece under the column that is long and rectangular above the hood release (3 bolts holing it in along the bottom. Then take the two top bolts off the metal piece that is under the plastic piece you just took off. This gets everything out of your way!
Then remove the 4 nuts from the backside of the steering wheel that holds the air bag in. Now you can pull out the air bag and pull its plug. Now dis-connect the second plug that is connected to the steering wheel. Now just take off the center bolt that holds the steering wheel on. With both palms open hit the backside of the steering wheel all around and ease it off toward you. This should make it easy to remove without need for any puller or extra tools. Now just remove the 3 star bolts that is holding the clock spring to the stationary column and unplug its two plugs. DONE
Now just put it back together.
Less than 45 minutes first time. It's easy, just start taking stuff off and you are there in no time. [ September 15, 2004, 09:09 PM: Message edited by: hidnn.o.s. ]

Well I have one sitting here Don (clock spring) I just haven't had a chance to throw the fucker on.
I didn't even know I had it till I started screwing around with this airbag column and saw that there was nothing else there but that plastic piece.
I'll let you know if it's even good or not and might take you up on it.

just make sure that it is not connecting the 2 pins when the connector is seated
