I have a 306 with 10:5:1 compression currently has a 150 shot of NOS. I f I dont sell the car I want to switch to an S-trim but I've heard this compression is not blower friendly. If I do run an S-trim can I get away with at least 10lbs of boost?

i think we have the same compression, and we're running 13lbs with stage 2 heads and stage 2 intake and blower cams without the stage 2 heads and intake it would be 20lbs. We're running 110 leaded race gas and it doesn't get near detonation. Infact our engine is too big for the blower. The blower doesn't push enough air for the engine. I am running around 9.8 331 with flat tops. with a S trim the only reason I didn't go lower compression was because I am using a water/meth injection under boost.

My brother's LS1 ran 12psi with 10.5:1 compression with aluminum heads. It can be done but you'll be pulling a LOT of timing. Alternately you can put some of that timing back on street gas with water/alky injection. It works wonders.
prior to the water/alky it ran peak timing of around 14^. Afterwards it was running 23^ and making a lot more power.

I have a 4.6 stroked to a 5.0 with flat tops pushing anywhere from 10.5:1 - 11:1 compression. I want to run nitrous. Does anyone know how well this will work? assembly is all forged. Probe pistons.

Nitrous loves compression, while it is not good if you want to run a healthy amount of boost.

While it is true that you want lower compression if you're running boost, I have 10.5:1 compression on my all forged motor and am running 12 pounds of boost from my SQ trim. I use water/alcohol injection to raise the octane and it works ok, but I can only run 18 degrees of timing with this setup. Still, that makes over 500 rwhp. http://93cobra.freeservers.com

BCINGU you are missing alot of timming you should be able to run alot more. What is your alch/meth mix? I would go to a bigger nozzle and adjust your mix I have talked to The owner of the snow boost cooler and he runs a 70/30 mix of Meth to water on his road track car.
67stang when you going to have that beast to the track? [ August 20, 2004, 01:57 PM: Message edited by: 2stangs69-91 ]

I'm running 60% alcohol, 40% water with a McMaster-Carr brass spray mister at 15gph, the largest one they have.
But, I had rust in my fuel cell that I use as a water/alky tank, and it was clogging the filter, so flow was probably restricted. I replaced the tank and haven't gone out to re-tune it.
You're probably right that I can get a lot more timeing if I can get more water/alky in there.

Working out the logistics. I can easily drive the car there, but I want a back up in the event it is not drivable on the return trip (I live 80 miles away from sac.)
Other than that... A/F still gets to 13.8:1 abouve 5000, i think the stock 5/16" fuel line is the issue. I want to address that and then let her rip.
