Hey All, i'm new to caFords so thanks for having me....so here is my problem....october 2003 i ran a 13.9@98.09 at firebird raceway FFW. At that time, I had stock good year tires, MAC cold air, flowmaster mufflers, tri-axe, and steeda underdrive pullies.. I had put the pullies on about a week before. intake was on for at least 5 months. On the way back from arizona, my check engine light came on. after a few days it turned off but i took it to ford anyway. They said there was no code entered in the system. To date, i have added frpp 3.73, BFG Gforce KD 255/40-17, My current runs at infineon have been in the 14.3 range with consistant 2.00sec 60ft. When i drive aggresivly the check engine light seems to come on, my friend told me it might be the intake? Also, i hear a faint whistle from under the car....i'm pretty sure I have an exhaust leak as well. If anyone can help that would be great, I really have no idea why i'm running so slow. Thanks! 2003 Gt 5speed ::Mac Lowering Springs, Mac CAI, Steeda Underdrive pullies, Steeda Tri-Axe, Flowmaster Mufflers, Bfg Gforce KD 255/40-17

you have a vacuum leak somewhere on the intake manifold. That is causing you the power loss.

First off I would judge the cars performance more on trap speeds rather than ET's...Trap speeds reflect the cars power more...
Your friend could be right on the intake effecting your computer...Try switching your intake back to stock at the track and see if it makes a difference....
Good luck...

If it is a vacuum leak, then it is easily fixed. You either re-connect the line that is loose or replace it with some similiar sized tubing from Vatozone or Kragen.

Alright thanks, I installed my intake about 5 months before the light came on, so i'm hesitant about that. Is there a possibility of cracked manifold?

Check around for cracked vaccum lines, I found 3 partially cracked ones when I saw one that was a clean break oneday... an ounce of prevention can save a lot of headache
also, if noone else has said it, welcome to the board

i think the cap and rotor isnt the problem , on a 4.6gt
but yeah i would change all the spark plugs and them make sure all the wires are pushed on all the way, they probably need to be changed anyway
