I just purchased comp cams XE270 cam and springs for my 99 GT. Does anyone know where I could get my valve springs changed. I have no idea how to do it, or the right tools. I have everything removed except the stock valve springs. THANKS.

I build those heads on a daily basis.. But I wouldn't attempt swapping the springs with the heads on the motor. I know they make a tool....but it's a PITA with the heads off. I can't imagine with the heads on. & I've swapped 5.0 & LS1 valvesprings on the motor quite often.
I know it's possible....I just wouldn't want to do it!

Don't you have to compress the cylinder full of air while at the same time using the "special" tool to remove the springs themselves...hoping that the valve doesn't fall into the chamber?
Seems like a job for someone that does it on a regular basis maybe not the shade-tree mech.
I've personally never done it but sounds like it could end up being a real biotch.
