looking to have the hangers moved on the mufflers, and to have turn down tips installed.
local shop in HMB quoted me $115 or more minimum.
I had the muffler on my truck welded in and a turn down installed for $35 in socal before I moved, so I know what this work should cost...
I called a couple other places local to me and they are all appt only and seem to charge just as much (quoted as an hour labor rate of $85 + materials). [ August 04, 2004, 12:31 PM: Message edited by: blind ]

I am also looking for a place to remove a ghetto dumps from my old 2-chamber and put nice 45*. I was quoted $100 at a Vallejo shop.
It should only cost $40-50 tops since we are using around 6 inches 2 1/2" piping.
Exhaust shops charging 100+ for 5 minutes of work are GAY.

how much would they charge?
I can take the car anywhere basically from daly city to san jose, I'm not really stuck in an area.

u'de have to call them to find out: Michael's Muffler & Brakes (408) 265-7804
I went there to troubleshoot my catback because it was making noise on both sides after we did a home install. They charged me $30 after they found that they would have to cut and reweld on one side to get it to fit properly and in total with all the time they spent searching for the noises and moving it into place, they spent about 40 minutes on my car.

Try this guy named Scott here in Dublin, at a shop called Minute Muffler. He does some nice work for VERY cheap. Was going to do a full exhaust piping from the header back for my '74 with a used flowmaster he was giving me, all being done for $40. He's pretty known around here for how cheap and very decent quality quality bends and welds he does. I highly recommend it, the guy basically just makes up prices from the top of his head and if you tell him you're really tight on cash he'll do it for very cheap

It's the only place I recommend to friends. I must have sent a dozen people there- all 100% satisfied.
