What year of car and what motor did this P1443 code come out of. If, and I am judging by your screen name, this code came out of a '96 Mustang Cobra, P1443 is an EVAP system control problem and has nothing to do with the iac. Basically, P1443 indicates a problem with the EVAP purge flow system. You have either a damaged PF (purge flow)sensor connector, a damaged EVAP cannister purge solenoid or a damaged PF sensor.

Check the connector first, that would be the easiest. Check for any pushed out pins, damaged pins or corrosion. If the connector is ok that leaves you with either the purge control solenoid or the purge flow sensor as possible problems. Testing the items will require a volt-ohm meter to check for proper resistance in the solenoid and proper voltage signals to and from the sensor. Or, you can substitute parts. Substituting a known good part with a suspected problem part is, of course, only possible if you have access to a known good part.
