Topic: Car making loud knocking sound....

Ok... earlyer yesterday i was driving on the freeway in my 92 GT when my car started making a loud whinning noize and all of a sudden it started makeing a loud knocking sound... then the car started kicking like crazy so i had it towed home... it appears the noise is comming from under the car around the trany area... i took a video of the sound so here it is... hope ot works... any ideas what it could be??

sounds like a huge exhaust leak.

i doubt it is an exhaust leak cause the car doesnt move. you put it into gear and it just starts knocking louder and whinning and kicking/jolts really bad. if it was a leak wouldnt the car still run? i dunno...

also... when i first turn on the car it sound fine whith no noise but as soon as i let go of the clutch thats when it goes all crazy

stops when you press the clutch hmmm sounds like it's within the clutch assembly or tranny.
does it move? able to go into gears?

Wasted throwout bearing causing the clutch assembly to become out of balance and making the pressure plate off center ?

the pressure plate is bolted to the flywheel. it shouldnt come off center.
