I have a 95 AODE that I wanted to replace with a a 97 AODE transmission that I got but the transmission shifter linkage is different. Can I swap the linkages myself? If not does anyone know a cheap transmission shop in the bay area that will change the linkage? [ June 27, 2004, 09:14 PM: Message edited by: FordPny ]

On the 97 the linkage hooks up above where it is pressed into the transmission and the 95 the linkage hooks on from the bottom of where it is pressed on.
This shows what the 1995 looks like with the black linkage bar pointing down
The 97 has a longer bar point up and another hooked onto that to move the main bar.
Sorry I have pics but havent hosted them
