I have a '69 Mustang and I need to switch out the steering wheel. The Problem is, the holes to pull the wheel are all stripped! Can I di this without damaging the steering collum? If so, how?

Can you tap the holes to a larger bolt diameter and install the puller with the larger bolts holding it down? Depends on how much material is there I imagine.
