I am building a roots supercharged 289 The problem that I am running into is that the flex fan that I am running hits the blower snout pulley. So I decided to go electric fan.the 4 row radiator core in my 64 comet is 17in/17in I need to know how much CFM I will need to sufficently cool this motor.it will produce close to 500hp on 7-9 lbs boost I have been told 4000 CFM is enough but the only thing that flows that much is a dual 13in fan setup this will not fit the radiator. Is 2900CFM enough to cool it? Also If I took one fan and made it a pusher and one a puller would this create 4000CFM or would it be 2000 Since they are in front of each other? Any information would be greatly appreciated and thanks for reading this long post-Luke

If I remember right, 2300-2400cfm is good for about 400hp...I think a single 16" fan gives about that....
I'm pretty sure that if you had 1 pusher and 1 puller fan it would equal the same as just 1 fan...I'd call flex-a-lite or be cool and find out what's best...
I hope I could help...

Just go with the pusher/puller setup. I'm sure it's more than you'll ever need. Then if it does start to overheat, just throw on the heater full blast. It's not a true summer crusing unless you've got to throw the heater on at least 10 times in a night!
