what size/brand would you guys suggest to me for a set of 17x9 rims? I have 245/40/17's BFgoodrich t/a KDWS's on my 17x8's, and am just wanting a damned good tire... should I stick with that brand or??

I got the Bridgestone Potanza RE730's and love them. Check out Tire Rack, they have good prices and you can compare with the other tires in that size.

it kinda depends on the characteristics you are looking for. For an all around street tire with decent comfort and quietness I'm pretty happy with my Dunlop SP9000s.

I've had really good luck with Yokohama and Kumho. Their tires are at least as good as BFG, Bridgestone, or the other big brands, and are generally cheaper.
