i am getting a cobra upper and lower manifold. I just have exhaust flows, and a cold air kit. will i make some decent hp with the upper and lower or should i get something else first like gears and pullies. What advatges and disadvantages do i have.

I think a cobra/gt-40/edelbrock/etc. intake manifold should make around 8-12 rwhp on an otherwise stock 5.0 with stock heads/cam.
gears and underdrive pullies are a *much* better mod and generally you want to avoid doing the intake by itself without heads but it can be done and lots do it, not a huge deal.

id keep the cobra intake on the shelf and do the H/C/I thing all at once. Gears are usually the first step and followed by un upgrade in exhaust (headers/h-pipe). At this point I would make certain your driving skills are up to par. Makes no sense in making a car go faster, if you cant drive it.
