you could cut the spring but i wouldnt reccomend it, it will ride horribly and i think it will sacrifice handling...3 inches is a pretty significant drop, too much if you ask me! i would reccomend buying new springs for sure. i personally like my steeda springs!

Yeah sportlines are damn low as it is. If you want to drag your exhaust over every driveway you hit than cut the springs. Otherwise I'd run the sportlines as is or better yet run eibachs pro kit.

Well basically what you are doing when you cut a coil is effecting the overall spring rate. Some people don't mind the change while others say it ruins the ride. It just comes down to what you are looking to achieve.

I had Mier racing springs on my 02 (1.25" drop)...i wasn't satisfied so i cut a coil off and it was slammed but the ride quality was not that good.
I went with sportlines in the end and i'm very happy...oh yeah and tokico shocks.
I HAVE THE OLD SPRINGS SITTING AROUND IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO TRY THEM OUT IF THEY FIT!

what ever springs u get make sure they are stiff springs otherwise when u cut then they will bottom out very easyily. if u do decide to cut them i suggest 3\4 of a coil in the front and the back is tricky cause if u cut to much your spring will fall out when u go sidways over a bump i went through alot to give my car the real low look. then i just gave up and put air bags in it now its really low. i can tuck 18"s in the front

I'd also vote for coilovers. The wheel rate is far superior to dropped springs with the strut in a different line. Plus you can put the car at different heights depending on need. Drop it to the ground for a show and put it back at a drivable height for the ride home. Having had coilovers on my GT I won't use a non-adjustable spring on any of my other cars. Why guess at the height you want when you can dial it in exactly?
