Hey thanks for reading this I need your guys help!! Im at school and I went back to my car and it wouldnt start. I turned on fine and ran fine this morning on the way to school, I parked it and about an hour later came back to move it and it wouldnt turn on. When I turn the key I hear a clicking noise and then its like a eeeeeeeeeeeeeeiiiiieeeeee, sound coming from the motor, like if the motor is getting electricity. but the motor doesnt even want to turn on like if its not getting any gas.. No sputter whatsoever. My Battery is good, so I 'm guessing its my starter or maybe alternator. Is there any ideas u guys may have to just get it to start to get me home today Thanks for reading this long post. oh its a 90 5.0 LX

If it is the starter, bring a friend and a hammer. While friend turns key, hit the starter with the hammer. This technique has worked on a couple of occasions for some of the Chevrolet products that my family has owned.

Get underneath car. Starter should be where engine and transmission join. It is cylindrical in shape.

it could be a crappy ground on the battery connector.
first thing first though, is the starter cranking? If its not cranking you either have a bad ground, not enough juice in the battery, or the starter went out.

I dont know if its cranking, usually the belt will try and move, but it doesnt, Alll I hear is Click, then comes the sound, Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee- the ground I think is good, almost brand new battery, I think its my starter, cuz before i would have have to turn the key like 2 times before it would start.
