A week ago,,I was waiting in the drive thru on Carls Jr,,in my 2001 mustang gt,,sudenly the rpms started to go low,,usually it stays at 700 at idle, and it droped to 500 and less so I was giving it some gas to make the car stay on,,,I had the "low fuel" light on,,so I thought that was the reason,,so I fill the tank with premium and shut the car for a few minutes and the car starts runing good again,,last friday I took a two hour trip to another city to catch a flight and the car had no problems,,but when I got back,,after 1 hour and 30 minutes of driving,,the car started doing the same thing,,so I barely got home,,let the car rest for a day,,turned it on and everythin was fine,,but after driving it for a while the same problem came,,I was in third,,pushed the cluth and tried to rev the car and only went up to 2500 and I was floring it,,"my check engine" light is on because of the fuel canister,,what could it be?

it could be your fuel pump or fuel filter going bad. if it was a hot day and you were pushing the car, it might be vapor lock, but not repeatedly on three days, but counds like something in your fuel system.

What codes are you getting?...If your check engine light is on you obviously have a problem...
Do you own a fuel pressure gauge?...

Sound like you got some bad gas somewhere. Definately change your fuel filter its clogged up. Run some fuel injector cleaner exc..

There is a soleniod on the charcoal/fuel canister that could be faulty...
Bascially before I can help you out more I need to know exactly what code you got from the EEC... [ May 05, 2004, 10:10 AM: Message edited by: Black94 5.0 ]

The problem seemed to be the fuel pump,,the check engine light, was caused by the canister, which is fixed now,,and the other problem its the EVAPORATOR,,which I dont know how to fix,,or if I have to buy a new one..
