OK ITS A AUTOMATIC TRANS. ITS A 98 V6 MUSTANG. THE PROBLEM IS THE LITTLE BOTTON ON THE SIDE OF THE SHIFTER IS STUCK AND YOU CAnt PUT IT INTO ANY GEAR. SO BASICLEY YOU CANT DRIVE THE CAR BECUASE ITS STUCK ON PARK. IS IT A CABLE OR SOMTHING. PLS HELP. ITS FOR MY LADIES SISTER V6.EDDIE

pull the handle off the shifterand u should be able to shift by pushing thewhitebutton

If not well then it's the brake switch not working.

The funiest part is that it's the same exact part used on my 67 as a brake switch. [Big Grin] Factory.

Interesting. I had the exact same problem w/ my old 98 auto. It was a wire cable that had a small plastic attachment that was getting caught. dismantle the center console and you should be able to see exactly where it is getting caught.

ok, i got an update. when the car is off it will move to any gear. but when you turn on the car it wont a all????? the only way to turn on the car is to put it on nutral and start it???thats hella wierd . is that a electrical problem?pls help. thanks eddie [patriot]
