something like this? or?
not made of money, but my application is for underhood spraying to match an exterior paint job (probably unrealistic to ask the body/paint shop to pull/reinstall motor for a underhood paint job).
also maybe to use for random body panels, etc., like painting a hood.
thanks.
also recommendations for stripping the paint.
bead blaster? sand blaster? rotary air-sander?

I think I found something cool for stripping paint, its a chemical that you let soak on the paint.
sold by eastwood company, they have a less toxic version that takes 3 hours, or the full wear gloves / breather version that takes about 30 minutes.

something like that would be fine. I use HVLP guns all day at work, and they're great. Easy to use, and control of product and fan are even easier.
If you can look for a non gravity feed style...personally I think they are much easier to use in tight areas.
as for removing paint...really depends on what the surface is, and where it's located. If it's still on the car, better be careful. What exactly would you be removing the paint from?
Remember, it's not always best to go to bare metal when repainting something. [ April 27, 2004, 05:27 PM: Message edited by: the50ho ]
