My friend just got a stock 97 cobra coupe, and i was wondering how much hp it they come with? i wanna know if i can take him

With a good driver a bone stock 97 Cobra will run high 13's at the track...

really...305, damn...i drove it and it pulled pretty good, but i didnt think it had that much...i just have a 98 gt with the bolt ons, but its his first stick and hes been driving it for like two weeks and i have had my car for 2 and half years(so i guess i have a driving edge). thanx guys for your feedback

That's right for DOHC's.
My next motor will be a stoked 5.4 of course DOHC.

With just an x-pipe, pulleys, cold air, mass air meter, and throttle body, you should see around 280 RWHP, 290 LBs.

but remember that your 98 gt is about pulling 190+ hp to the rear, compare to 265 hp to the rear, even if your friend doesn't know how to take off, he will catch up to u and then pass u.

lets hope he doesnt start to mod it...even if you get a blower and he gets all the bolt ons chances are hell still take you
