and wanted one with the exact same dimensions as a 302 hyd/roller lifter...
where could I buy it?
summit? what part #? would a generic solid lifter from say an early 289/302 have the same dimensions?

You could just use an old hydraulic lifter. Just disassemble the lifter, remove the spring from inside, and sick a bolt in there, and re-assemble the lifter.

we stacked washers inside the lifter to take up the space.They work great
