I have a 351c in my 66 stang...but the problem is when I step on the throttle hard the car wants to die out...im not sure but i think that i need a electric distributer other than my point distributer now! What the hell should i do? [Frown]

try disconecting the vacuum advance and see if it still happens. Check the accelerator pump's make sure they are working also.

you can also check your carb if it is too big or if the secondaries are opening to much you could just be fluding it

My 351c in my 70 Cougar will backfire out the carb and want to die at 1/3 throttle while it's cold.

I believe that the accelerator pump is sticky, or a float is sticky. Although the timing was off and the vacuum advance was hooked up incorrectly, it did not get better once I fixed these problems.

Hopefully my own experience will help point you in the right direction. It's the original Autolite 2100 2-barrel. I'd be trying to fix it, but I got an Edelbrock 600 cfm waiting to take its place.

if i unhook the vacum advance should i plug it up or just leave it.
