Ok my car has done this befre and it went away on its own i think. when i turn to the left my car will sputter really bad like the fuel is cutting out or something. when i turn to the right it goes away. also what does pinging sound like.

do you have a really heavy set of keys? sometimes it will mess up the inside of the ignition switch and cause that. Could also be a chaffed wire in the column. [ March 25, 2004, 08:12 PM: Message edited by: blackmagic02GT ]

Certainly could be that as well. Check for any lose connections under the hood.

could it be my timing? i had it at like 14 a couple days agoand i put it backto 10 to see how it would run. tomorrow im gonna put it back to 14 and c if it helps.

If it's pinging at 10, 14 will just make it worse. If that is your problem definately do not bump the timing up at any cost. You might have just got a bad batch of gas that is causing it to ping

i found my stupid promblem! it was a damn spark plug wire arching on my header. it damn near went through the whole thing.
