I currently have a 306, I really want a 331 or 347. But with my current mods how much more HP will I see?
*306 *Edelbrock 6037 heads *Cobra intake extrude and honed *LT's, off road H-pipe, bullets *30 lb injectors,255 in tank, adjustable FPR
I will just buy the shortblock and put my current stuff on it. I will also be getting rid of the 150 shot of NOS I have on. Thanks

If your 306 is running good I see no reason to change the short block

i agree...but if you really want a 347 or 331 make sure you get a r block, or dart block...

Why would you waste your money?...He's staying NA, he says he's getting rid of the nitrous...The stock Ford 302 block I'm sure will be able to handle his combo....
I dont think you'll much of a gain from a 347 with the 6037 heads...

Yeah I kind of want to get a motor with low compression, that way I always have the option of boost. The 306 I have now has a 10:5 compression and I really dont like NOS as a power adder. In other words I want to be N/A for a while but at the same time have 380+ RWHP.

If you really want a 347 i say get one! The stuff you have will work great. i bought a really cheap mail order 342 and ran less intake and heads than you have and ran great and only got better from there.

Yep a 342 or a 347 would be a great combo. I saw a car with afr 185's and an X-cam run way into the 11's all day long without a power adder. If you plan on a blower at some point I'd stick to a 331 instead of a 347.

It's all good, but he didn't say in his original post anything about a blower...

I think it would be somewhat of a challenge to get 380 rear wheel N/A out of a low compression 331. I made over 400 rwhp N/A with a 351 that has less compression than your 306.
