Take it Advanced Dyno Technologies in Suisun. 707-425-DYNO. The dyno and tune serious carb'ed race cars regularly. With the wideband O2 sensor they can dial it in easily. Tell the owner, HH, that Jim w/ the green 5.0 mustang sent you.

what is the problem, to much fuel on top, to little, bottom end stumble, horrible idle

is it just me or does an annular 830 sound a little big for a 331, even if it is stout

even though its advertised as an 830, id be willing to bet it actually flows about the same if not less than a 750 mighty demon. and even with a mighty demon, i'd say thats a little much.

does it idle? does it fall flat on its face when you give it gas?

check for vacuum leaks, and then check your idle screw

check the secondary idle screw,it is located under the carb on the side(under the basepalte),its a little screw you can turn with a small screwdriver(holley put them there for engines that need extra air/fuel sometimes they're set too high and no matter what you do, you cannot bring down the idle even if you close off the primary throttle blades!hope this helps! when it ran with 850, how much vacuum were you pulling?
