Help me resolve an argument. My friend insists that you cannot port E7TE heads for my '89 5.0. I would rather buy different heads, but I am under the belief that it is possible. I hope that am not misguided on this issue. Thanks for your time.

you can port them and even install bigger valves. But they dont flow anywhere near any aftermarket unit and the cost equals a set of used gt40's (not gt40p's). You can find a good set of used heads like the gt40s on this site and on ebay. Good luck.

Thumper heads and Power heads. Both ported E7 flow as good as GT40X heads. However Thumpers $600, Power Heads ~$700.
By which most people would tell you to get aluminum aftermarket instead.

The only time porting E7's is justifiable, is if youre really broke and youre doing the porting yourself. They are a great set of heads to learn how to port on because they arent worth shit. Removing the smog bumps are always a plus.

I'm in that category
a solid 20+ hp for just the price of the tools sounds good to me. It'll give me something to do
