Are you just installing a new pumpkin? It isn't really hard to do. My son and I have done both the Mustangs. It took us the better part of a day for the convertible but we replaced leaf springs and shocks at the same time. The SportsRoof was an afternoon. Do it yourself with the help of a friend.

leaf springs?

i think you are thinking about cars with a dropout third member. 8.8 rearends have integral carriers (like a gm 10 or 12 bolt). its still pretty easy, thats why those who can do it dont charge that much.

I don't think it's that easy to install gears in an 8.8...I dont know any shops in the Napa area that do gears...I do know Rearend Specialies are pretty good and they're in Santa Clara...
