the 351w will not use a 302 intake, a few he can use are made for a 351 which are a TFS'r , CHP Spyder intake...there may be a few others out thier but i cant remember

Incorrect, The 351 needs a different lower intake manifold which Ford sells. If he likes the GT40 upper he can keep it and then he can purchase the 351 lower only and be good to go for his set up Edit: All 351 and 302 upper intake manifolds are the same, the 351 W lowers are just a little wider. This holds true for all the manifold companies. They all sell just the lower manifold for conversion purposes [ February 23, 2004, 09:57 AM: Message edited by: DropTopFox ]

the deck heights for a 302 and a 351 are different. the lower intakes are not interchangeable.
also. there are more than one deck heights for 351's. Most commonly are the 9.2 (svo style) and 9.5 decks. Those intakes are not interchangeable either.
i recommend the trickflow intake.

it is not cost effective for him to just buy a lower for his car, he would be better off selling his gt40 and buying something better the gt40 isnt that hreat of an intake anyways
here is what he has to choose from, not in order from best to worst
gt40, cobra edelbrock: performer, rpm, rpmII, victor tfs: street heat, track head, tfs-R, or the new box chp spyder in: victor jr, super victor, torquer II
it would help if we knew what block he was using and what the rest of the combo was
