I dont' see how art carr could possibly be that much less if similarly built. You should be able to get EVERYTHING from dynaMIC for ~$3500.
My vote, which is completely meaningless since i've owned neither, goes to dynaMIC! [ February 11, 2004, 02:06 PM: Message edited by: Jeff S ]

thats what I was thinking why should it cost way more for dynamic
The only diffrence is that I can see is that art carr throws its own converter in
where I think dynamic sells you someone else's torq converter
I might have to go with dynamic just couse they are proven more at the track then artcarr

You will be happy with the P/A unit. I was looking at Art Carr, P/A and Lentec when I bought mine(AOD). After all my research I just went with the cheapest. The sales support at Art Carr has been great though I must say.

Is this for a race car with any kind of power? Like near or more than 1000? If it is the c-4 is about the worst tranny you can buy for a race car!! There is a thread about this same topic on the NMRAracing.com board. Some of these guys are big time Ford racers talking about it and know what they are talking about I would get a t-400 or a t-350 to handle that kind of power.
Eric If not disregard my post. Here is the thread.

interesting post some people who dont use the tranny have comments and the people who are useing it dont have problems with them
I think all tranny's have their up's and down some people have good luck with some otheeres dont that why LIFETIME WARRANTI WILL BE GOOd
I will make like 600rwhp if im lucky and the freshen up's are free from P/A
I would go power glide but if I want to drive the car on the street it would suck ass

If your going to ~600rwhp there is absolutely no problem with a C-4...it will last forever. Once you go low 9's or faster than you will have problems with reliabilty where a T400 or Powerglide would be a better choice.
You'll be fine.

Yeah, I am sure you will not have a problem with the tranny with the power you making. But if it does break often Im sure you will not be happy with the shipping cost to and from the place that offers a lifetime warranty. The people on that post like Jay Allen speaks from experience with the c-4
Good luck
