Does your 5.O's volt guage act like this?
In the morning the voltage needle is pegged at the first notch above the middle line.
After a few trips at stores and what not, the voltage needle does not go up to the first notch above half way anymore, but rather only a hair above the half way mark.
Does this mean that the battery is fully charged and everything is normal or does your voltage guage stay pegged at the first notch above half way all day, every day?

The whole damn stock gauge says normal on it
I have the 2g alternator and have underdrive pullys on my water and crank but not the alternator. When I drive my needle is way above the half way but when sitting at idle it drops to the second line from the bottom with my lights and electric fan going plus the stereo. Now if I have my defroster and have the vents on high it's at the bottom all the way.
I need to do a 3g swap for sure but don't have the money.

Depends what I have running. Mine will sit right near 14 volts when I first turn it on, then if I turn on the headlights it drops to about 13, then when the electric fan turns on it drops to 12. These numbers are all at idle. The car runs right near 14 always on the freeway, but idling it basically always drops down to 12

3G with underdrives and it stays just above the middle line. With all accessories running it drops to just below the middle line (though the lights never dim). It is very consistent.
