No MILs if it has cats, and there is nothing that goes on that passenger side, just metal to metal, but have fun with that nut, it is a huge PITA ![[Mad]](mad.gif)

You need a passanger side metal gasket where it connects to the header... The stock piece is the best one to use... You can pick up a new one at the parts dealer at your nearest Ford dealer...
Usually you don't need MILS for a catted mid-pipe, but sometimes the pipe will trigger a CEL... Most likely, it won't...
Oh yea, use some good lubricant (liquid wrench) on the top passenger side header bolt... Unless you have an impact, that bolt will give you fits...
good luck... [ January 04, 2004, 01:59 PM: Message edited by: Rev Happy ]

Haha, I didn't use a gasket on the passenger side because I didn't see one, it must have still been on the manifold ![[Embarrassed]](redface.gif)

Ya, most likely it was still on the manifold if you didn't see it... And yes, 96-98 Cobras have 6 cats on the stock H-pipe...

Nice choice on the pipe Shaun. Is it going on with the stock cat-back or did you guys change that out already?

I thought that was a 96 only thing...my 98 Cobra and my buddies 97 only had 4 on the stock h-pipe.

my 96 had 4 as well and J's DDLY SNK (97 Cobra) had 4 as well. We both installed off-road x-pipes in ours...I dont think they ever installed 6..not even Civic's have that...

yes 2 or 0 is always WAY better then 4 or 6 and a good pair of headers would be even better!!

I'm with PurpleNotch on this one again... 99 and up are the ones with 4 cats, while the 96-98 Cobras have 6... As you go down one side of the pipe, you'll come across that first large shield which holds two cats... Then there is the smaller one below it with 1, making 3 on each side of the pipe... Compare an h-pipe to a 99 and up and you will see the difference...
