Anyone know if the Bassani X-pipe w/ cats is legal in Cal? they obviously only have 2 cats, and a buddy who's a smog tech says no.... and I've heard they do not have Carb numbers??? no offense to smog techs.... but what rubs one wrong... seems to be fine with another! go figure! so I just wanted some more opinions.... thanks for any info....

Thanks, it's jus so funny.... it's almost a coin toss if you will pass smog or not.... I have friends with the Bassani that have and ones that haven't.... just wanted some clarification. Thanks again.

Speaking of visual tests, does anyone know if 2 cat H-pipes pass visual, as well as bigger injectors such as 24lb and 30lb?

If the car came with 4 cats, it needs 4 cats. Not all places care if you have 2 or 4 cats(the 2 cat h or x-pipes usually pass the visual), but legally, you are supposed to have 4.
And if the car came with 19lb injectors, you should have 19lb injectors when you go to smog the car. Again, not all shops know the difference(nor do they usually look) to see that you have orange topped injectors, but technically, they should not be changed. Ross is correct. Any part that came originally equipped from the factory, must remain in place...unless the repolacement, or add on part is equipped with a C.A.R.B. # either stamped on the part, stickered, or has a C.A.R.B # listed for this part, otherwise, the parts must remain factory.

Same here,my car has an x-pipe with only 2 cats and it passed visual and sniffer,no problems. It just depends on how anal the guy who smogs your car is.Just take it somewhere else.
