A friend of mine has an Alternator problem. His car caught on fire due to the alternator. I read this before and i dont remember. Does it have to do with the wires? How can this be fixed and not have this issue again?

What kind of car is it? Is it an O.E., reman, or (high performance) aftermarket?

I would recommend going this route or the powermaster 1 wire alternator route like DropTop and I did. If she goes with the 3g alternator like 88GT suggested, I would be sure to check the burnt wires with an ohm meter and replace them(they will probably need replacing).
