Think this will be ok? If yea for how long do you think it will hold?
it's the tube that goes from the H-pipe to some connection thing to the smog pump
and..... Does anyone have one of these they can let me have or sell really really cheap?
the shiny thing fell off of the smog deal and if i put it back on it comes right off. Let me know thanks!
Here's another picture of what's broken. [ December 06, 2003, 05:32 PM: Message edited by: 87 Saleen ]

is thats garden hose? not sure if that'll hold, i used heater hose and its been fine for the past 3 years. i cant see what broke in the second pic, but you should hose clamp that piece back on. its pretty much a huge exhaust leak

i'm not sure what your trying to do, but if that is part of the pipe that goes down to the exhaust, just take it all out and run a hose instead of the pipe. It works great.....

Yep, remove it all and replace it with heater hose.

The broken piece you are refering to under the hood is an air injection check valve. Basically it allows thermactor air to enter the exhaust port holes in the back of the head but prevents reverse flow of exhaust. The way it sits now looks like it will be causing an exhaust leak. You will not pass the visual inspection of the smog. It's going to need to be replaced.

If you want to be positive that lower connection by the h-pipe will hold, go to napa and get silicone hose. Its a green color with red inside. That will hold up, but its not cheap.

That's exactly what mine is. Thank you everybody!
Think they'll actually crawl under the car though and fail me?

I don't think they will fail that lower hose, because that is actually emissions hose. That is what I sold to garages when I worked for napa for emissions hose (smog pump systems and what not).

Exactly
You can go to any Kragen and ask them for a "Diverter valve"(fancy name for check valve) and they carry new ones...They just screw right on and then the hose clamps on, obviously...
I would suggest goin to Allied Auto first, its right next to Clover Leaf bowling alley in Fremont...They are a little more expensive, but I'm sure they will have the part....
