I saw this on the corral.net and wondered what some of yall thought about it?

I think that the carbon build up is what caused my pinging, and may have to resort to pulling the heads off just to clean them, since I cant afford new heads...
Thanks!

can't you just pull some timing and/or run better gas?

When I first got my car I sprayed a can of throttle body cleaner into the motor while keeping the RPM's at 3,000. A ton of smoke came out. I did it every year after that for two-three years and stoped doing it because nothing or next to nothing came out the exhaust after after the first time. I wouldn't take the heads off to clean anything. Pinging on '94-'95's is very common. Just pull back the timing one or two degrees.

There's your answer! Don't pull your heads or suck any fluid into the motor just because of your pinging.

well, all that's avaible is the 91 octane, and I use only 76, since they dont have MTBE... the timing, is at 8* now, but when I first bought it, it was at 12* do you think I would be safe to try 10*?
