Do I need to get a braket to bypass the spob pump? And what size belt does it use. I will still be running everything else. This is on a 93 gt 5.0

I know that you can buy a bracket for them, its like $80. tho! Ive seen several mustangs where the owners have rerouted the belt to bypass it, or have just taken it off completely... im interested too!

You do not need a bracket to bypass the smog pump and if you want you don't even need to remove the pump unless your doing it for looks/weight reasons.
Wrap a string around all of the pullys the way the belt would go and mark it. Take that string in to the parts store and then have a belt matched up to it. I do this all the time and it works great.

Just went through the same exact thing a couple of weeks ago with my 91 lx (w/ A/C). I read a mustang book that told me to do this on an A/C car you need a 76 inch belt. Well I tried that first and I couldn't get it to go on. I tried a 77 inch and it went on perfectly BUT, after a couple of days, the belt stretched and was touching just beneath the tensioner. So I got the 76 inch belt back and with a little help from some buddies, we got that thing on. We did end up having to unbolt the alt for a sec so we could slide the belt on. After this one stretches a bit, I'm pretty sure I'll be able to take it off/put it back on by myself w/ no problems. BTW, the belt was a Gates K060760. Or you might want to see if they have a 76.5 inch belt, part# should be K060765. That might make it a little easier.
