I'm planning on getting a 1965 Mustang soon. And it has a rear end that will handle a v8 motor and trans. Since it has that already, I was wondering how hard was it to do the swap? Could anyone possibly help me with the swap and how much would it cost me? Let me know because I might be getting a 1965 Mustang sometime this week or next and getting the engine within the same time frame. All helps, thanks guys.

Are you swapping out a 289 or a 6? A 302 will bolt right into place of the 289. Even a 351 will do that. You have to change motor mounts for a 6 but that is cake. The cost depends on what you want to do.

I bet he is talking about a 5.0 motor with fuel injection... just a guess.

Could be. The 5.0 will still bolt in. Obviously cost goes up with EFI but it can be done easily enough. Could I do it? I am still trying to get my 306 carb application project going. Motor is done just need to finish odds and ends.

yes you are correct, it is fuel injected. Anyone think they're willing to help me with this project? I'm not to familiar with mustang swaps. I've only helped my friends with honda swaps and what not. Thank you very much. Oh and btw the mustang was a 6 cylinder.

If your'e doing an EFI swap the guy to talk to is Ron Morris of Ron Morris Performance in Modesto. He's got everything from engine wiring harnesses, alternator harnesses, trans harnesses, he's got it. I've got his cable clutch kit in my 66' coupe and I love it. His website is ronmorrisperformance.com.
