Im looking to get gears soon, probably 3.73's
but what would be the best power adder?

I was looking at a new cam (not sure of what kind), but was wondering if I would end up having clearance issues with stock heads?

would it be better for me to get a new intake 1st?
what about getting new heads?

any suggestions would be appreciated! [patriot]

Get your gears first definately. If I were you I'd save up and put the heads cam and intake on at the same time. Heads will make the biggest gains, but are the most expensive. You can save yourself some time and or money if you install everything at the same time.

gears, that's what I was gonna do 1st...

what brand/model would you suggest? I was looking at Edelbrock or AFR's, and working around that.

My ultimate goal would be a 400rwhp street machine with a supercharger on it...

I know of a kick ass mechanic (JohnB) that will do any installs that I cant accomplish due to lack of tools/ knowledge!

Thanks!

Definitely do the gears first. Then TrickFlow that biatch! With a nice H/C/I combo and a blower, why stop at 400whp? [Big Grin]

gears and let me tell you when I had the B&M shift kit with 4.10's in the rear of my 95 HOLY SHIT!!! [worship] I can tell you with that set-up there wasn't going to be anyone with a manual and my same mods beating me. I think those tow things would help you a great deal right now [patriot]

I've seen that one, it has 2 options, heavy duty and highperformance, which one did you pick?

I/m just thinkin that if I put 4.10's in the rear it will kill the gas mileage... I will be driving it to WA every once in never...

I was just gonna get the FMS gears, and good/bad comments about them?
Thanks!

the only difference between 3.73s and 4.10s is like 10%, but you will feel a difference in your launch. its all in how you drive the car too. shit i'm still waiting on my 4.30s, but now i'm starting to think 4.56, on the street with a AOD tranny. [patriot]

i would think about 4.10s with a stall converter. gears alone in a auto are okay but weren't much hype for me, but with the stall, thats when your car really wakes up!!

yes it will, but i'm running a 28inch tire, which makes it seem more like 4.36 which still isn't much better, but my launch will make up for it. yes this is a street car, wich is going to be driven like 1 or 2 times a week. chances are i'll probably stick to the 4.30s with a 28in tire.

I would seriously consider 4.10's, you already have 3.27's!...Think about it, you're gonna spend over $400 for gears and an install, you might want to make it worth while....It might get expensive, but a higher stall converter will be better and I would get a shift kit right away too....

As for the engine.....You could add an intake, mass air meter and a throttle body and get around 25rwhp, or you could buy heads and get around the same rwhp because you will still have the STOCK intake, TB and MAF...If you can buy the intake and heads at the same time like Mark 88GT said, then you will be rewarded with 260rwhp easy...You would only have to install the intake once if you buy it with the heads, but thats really not a big deal....

As far as the next engine mod, I would buy a 76mm C&L mass air meter and then Edelbrock Performer intake...The stock 94-95 intake is more restrictive than a stock 87-93 intake due to the fact that Ford pulled it from a 5.0 T-bird due to the new hood clearence on the 94-95's...

ok, so I think Im gonna go in this order...

shift kit - B&M?
4.10 Gears, should I go with FMS?
C&L Maf
throttle body, I was thinkin like bbk...
Edelbrock intake
heads maybe edelbrock too...

when Should I look at a new cam?

and what kind of stall converter should I look at?
Thanks guys!

i say forget gears or atleast the 4.10s because youre going blower and thats overkill
i say save up go h/c/i and blower with a chip of course and any fuel mods youre gonna need the beef up the tranny when youre knowing what youre working with in the mean time an exhaust that will let a supercharged motor breathe better, and a stall that will be good for both youre car now and the supercharged motor(if there is one)
or go h/c/i but not 4.10s and maybe not even 3.73s

Whatever gear you decide go with FMS...67Stang has a good point about 4.10's and a supercharger...With a supercharger 3.73's will aid traction more, but thats what slicks are for. [Wink] ...

TB= Edelbrock/BBK 70mm

I havent had much experience with shift kits or autos, but I would try the TransGo shift kit and I think a 2,600-2,700 10-inch converter will be cool...I would upgrade the transmission oil cooler too, the stock oil trans oil cooler is barely adequate

Its best to add a cam when you do the heads..

IT NEVER ENDS! [Big Grin]

You're doing a good job of getting a plan together. Don't be in a rush to spend your money and you'll be fine.

Get the h/c/i installed all at once. As for the MAF...I'm not a fan of C&L meters at all. In MY opinion AND experience there garbage. But...there are other people that like them so....it's just an opinion. What kind of blower are you thinking about getting? Will the car be mainly for street or more strip? This will help determine what gears to run. Like Black94 5.0 said...stick with FMS gears. I also like the FMS TB's. If you're definitely going to get blown then get a 70mm. Now remember when doing all this upgrading, don't forget about Fuel!!! Get a Kirban fuel pressure regulator when you do the h/c/i. Then when you get the blower, upgrade to 42# injectors and get a tune done. Oh….I say ditch the 3 chamber flows later as well. Also, FYI: when you get a tune done on the car you can have the shift points changed then as well.

Oh and if you haven't done so yet, install sub frame connectors and upgrade the brakes first! The speed is worthless if you can't stop the car!!!

I've been having some problems with my car but regardless it still feels really strong with the 4.10s and a 3000 stall PI converter. I can roast the tires like never before... [Wink]

I was thinking ATI procharger, but im big into the idea of a pre or after cooler.
Im looking for it to mainly be a street car, but im sure Ill take it to the strip for fun!
I was looking at a chip, more specifically diablo... is it a universal thing to be able to change the shift points? that would be most helpful... 2nd gear @ 15mph... yuck.

and I dont care for theses 3 chambers, I bought them from someone who told me they are 2 chambers... and JohnB told me they are really 3 chambers... oops. I Liked the sound of the old MAC setup... so I may look at the muffler setups that they make with the turndowns preinsalled.
Thanks a lot guys! [patriot]
