I've heard that they flow like complete crap and that a stock water pump outflows them in a MAJOR way!

Wow your the only one that I have ever heard say that. I am also considering an elec water pump but first need to do a 3g upgrade and battery relocation with cutoff switch.
What are the better elec water pumps out there?

If you do run one, hook up a warning light to your temp guage.

I bought the cheapy moroso piggy-back-your-stock water pump and spent 5 hours on the side of the road waiting for AAA after a friday night test-n-tune at Sac, made it back just past the richmond bridge (doing around 100) and it frags itself and flies apart. didn't have the right parts to return to stock.
I figured I was going to get shot/mugged/stabbed out there

Those piggy back water pump things are not ideal for street use. I have heard horror stories about those ones. I have never heard horror stories about the CSI/Mezeire pumps. I want one too. I would be interested in seeing the flow comparisons between a stock style HP one and an electric one.

edelbrock victor pump that is flow data from edeldbrocks victor circle track water pump, how much more does the curcle track pump mpre than a reagular victor pump i dont know
but csi claims 36gpm, so at cruise speeds or at idle the electric watre pump outflows a pulley driven pump
at idle would be the most benefit from a electric pump i would guess, 20 gpm vs 36gpm for the elctric

I looked into them for a while and heard no complaints about them keeping the car cool, Shit when you have a crank pulley as small as mine an electric pump is probablly better! The only bad thing is they are only rated for so many hours but with as much driving as you plan on doing you will be fine.

csi claims 3600 hours on the water seals, and i can get the water seals for $5 because of my dads business, and i know how to change them since i have done it before csi says the motors are good for 50,000 miles in a daily driven car , i dont know if i beleive that but electric motors usually last a good amount of time, and if not i know the guy who owns Electric Motor Service in walnut creek so i guess he could just rebuild it for me

Can you explain why on earth you'd remove your t-stat? Was this a track car?
Castor - here's a how to article on the 3G upgrade. http://www.racesystems.com/3gproj/index.htm I'm not sure sure if you can get onto that fordmuscle link...it makes me sign in there.

you would remove it so there is no pumping restriction in the engine
it moves more water than the internatl bypass can flow... and what if you blocked the bypass hose..... well then the water dead heads at the water pump.... not good
i dont have a thermostat in the camaro.. runs fine right at about 165 or so... it i get on it like for hella long, it gets to 190 then cools down very quickly, and with the electric fan and water pump, it cools off in like 3 minutes with the engine off
