I will be putting my gears in the 98 cobra in about a week or so.

I need opinions on what speedo recalibrator to use.....and tips/tricks on the install.

Thanks!

As far as I know, the 98 Cobra's still use a speedometer cable(not a digital odo)...That means that you have to change the speedo gear in the trany...

You can buy a calibrator which you can set for any gear/tire setup. It is a small box with switches inside. THe gears tend to fail. Mine is from SHM but a few other companies offer them. Check out MMFF I think youy can pick em up for aobut 90 bucks.

Yeah, I just checked in my 5.0 mag and Dallas Mustang has a "Speed Cal" for 96-02 Mustangs for $89.95....

So, do the 96-98 Cobra's have a speedo cable?...

I have 4.30s in my Cobra and running the Dallas Mustang Speedcal... The unit works good as I have had no problems with it... Anything over 4.10 gears requires a speedcal type device to correct the speedo...

How could an electronic signal box control how fast the cable that goes to the back of the speedometer?.....
