I am going to relocate my battery this weekend but am very hesitant on also doing the switch. Since it has to be exposed, it can be messed with at all times, especially when I am at the mall or somewhere where the car is alone for hours!
Is Sacramento Raceway really that strict if you have a relocated battery? Will they not let you race if there is not one installed? Or should I just say f--- it and do it!
Thanks JV

Ive seen some really innovative placement of battery on off switches. Mine is very exposed, but I like the way I did mine. I dont know how strict certain race tracks are. They have questioned others I have been with, and the only thing they ever asked me was if I tapped in positive or not. Its a nice safety thing to have nonetheless.

If you don't have the switch, you're really taking a risk everytime to go to the track. The switch is there for the rescue crew to help YOU in a crash. Consider it cheap insurance.

you need to have a battery switch that is fully exposed and labeled on and off any time you move the battery from the original position ![[Smile]](smile.gif)

I asked them at Sac last time I was there and they specifically told me that I wouldnt be able to run if I didnt have the switch. But is there any reason why it cant come out under the trunk, like in the wheelwell or something?

Thanks guys. I guess its going on. I'll post some pics if I can after the job is done. I am thinking of putting it right obave the License plate but mounted on the trunk door itself. I have not decided exactly where but that is my first option. any suggestions? Oh, its going on a sn95 style if that helps.
Thanks

you can take off the switch nob with a Philips screw driver when your driving around town and put it back on when you go to the track.

I use a key'd switch. That way, I can remove the key as an added theft deterant!

with a screwdriver you can remove the license plate in all of 30 seconds... [ September 22, 2003, 09:21 PM: Message edited by: shade- ]

shade-
so, you expect the track safety crew to spend 30 seconds (after they locate a screwdriver) removing your license plate while your burning car is upside-down and you're trapped inside???????/
i think you misunderstand the PURPOSE of the SAFETY SWITCH.
it is to save your life and needs to be a big well-marked switch like all the real racers use, not some hidden gizmo that nobody can find in an emergency...
oh well, in rock climbing we had a saying, "dumb ones die" I hope anyone with a relocated battery follows the rule to the letter without shenanigans.
good luck, man! stay safe

he takes the plate off when he races. so there is no problem. then when hes done, he puts his plate back on so know one will be tempted to play with it. very smart, i think ill do that too

Why is the first one completley gay? The first one actually looks real good and clean and completley hides the battery cut off switch so knowone fucks with it. If your worried about someone jacking your plates than you can just get regular nuts and take the wing nuts off.
Plus who gives a fuck if it gets your approval? I know I don't. [ September 23, 2003, 01:30 PM: Message edited by: 91sleeper ]
